Train Station Scene

This photographic composite was the final project for my Studio Art and Technology class. First, I had found the free no royalty stock photo of the woman in the pink dress. That image was what inspired me to create a busy train station scene. I collected all of the free no royalty stock images I was going to use for the project. Working in Adobe Photoshop, I selected all of the content, including the train, from the photos I wanted to include in my work.

I then placed the selected train how and where I wanted it in the station background. This included selecting some portions of the original station background as well. Next, I placed all of the rest of the content, the models and luggage, where I wanted them as well. Then I added some shadows to make it seem more like they were really physically were at that location. Once all of that was done, I did some photo editing to alter the coloring and feel of the image to make it feel a bit “old-timey”—I wanted it to feel like it was from the 1940’s-50’s. This included that torn white photo edge and incorporating a scratchy texture into the image to make it feel old and worn.
