Reaching for a Star Quote Typography

This was a project in the Hand Lettering class I took; specifically, this is the Blackletter assignment. To create this, I wrote out each individual letter I would need on paper using the proper pen nib and technique for Blackletter calligraphy. Then I scanned each of the letters to use on my computer. Next, in Adobe Photoshop, I selected all of the individual letters and cleaned them up a bit. I then placed all of the letters properly lined up and spaced out in Adobe Illustrator. I added the designs to the Versal / Lombardic capital W to match the star aesthetic. Finally, I worked on and developed the stained-glass mosaic-like design of the background to also be like stars in the sky to match the quote. The stained glass aesthetic also matches with the style of Blacklettering lettering.
