For the Love of Print

I love print design. I know that the world is switching to digital more and more, but there’s something about print media that I absolutely love. A book or a booklet that you’ve designed, to hold it in your hand physically is something really special and satisfying. There’s something about having a physical item in real-life, real-world space that just hits differently than a digital design. Whether it’s a book, booklet, poster, magazine, print, whatever it is, I love print design.

In a book, I love how everything designed on the page is laid out according to a grid. A grid is a great way to bring order to a design, even though the viewer / reader doesn’t ever see it. Even though it’s never shown, you can still tell when a grid is used, which is really interesting and another reason why I love print design.

A lot of my graphic design work is print, so if you’re interested, please go check it out.

I know I have a website, and I’m doing a blog, which is all digital, and I am enjoying this working, designing, blogging, and writing in a digital space, but print will always have a special place in my heart. Print media has been around for so long, and even though more and more content is going to digital, print media is still here too. Just like in historical times, books still exist, posters still exist, packaging of products still exists, etc., and that’s pretty amazing if you think about it. There’s something really special about print media.
